The word doula is a Greek word that means women’s servant
Women have been serving other women in childbirth for centuries and have proven that this support from another woman has positive effects on the labor process
As a Doula I provide emotional, physical and informational support throughout pregnancy, during labor and postnatal period
My role is to help women have a safe, memorable and empowering birthing experience Our relationship begins couple of months before the baby is due. During this time, we establish a relationship that will give you complete freedom to ask questions, express fears and concerns, and take an active role in creating a birth plan
I’ll help you understand the “Labor room language” and by using conversation, movements, breathing techniques, guided imagery, etc. we’ll learn to recognize your inner power that will help you give birth with full confidence in the ability of your body and spirit
I believe that your involvement in birth by taking responsibility on the changes and processes your body goes through will eventually lead you to a positive, empowering birthing experience |
