I speak English and Hebrew fluently, English being my mother tongue.

I have a somewhat unusual background. I came from a music career, after receiving my bachelors and masters degrees both in french horn performance in Boston. When I made aliyah in 1995, I joined the Be'er Sheva Sinfonietta. I became interested in birthing when I was pregnant with my first child (1998), and started reading a lot and learning about pregnancy and birth. I started to form my goals and desires for planning my upcoming birth. I read everything I could on the subject, and while thinking about a possible home birth for my first baby, I met a midwife who was very influential on my developing attitudes toward birthing. Over the next 7 years, I grew more and more interested in helping women have good births, and continued to read everything I could get my hands on. In 2005 I took a formal class to be trained as a birth doula, and received certification from DONA International, one of the largest doula organizations in the world.

My experience with helping women have their babies started before I took the class, though. I went as an assistant to home births together with my midwife friend, and gained experience first hand working with this wonderful midwife. I also accompanied a few friends to the labor room with their births, and loved each time I had this opportunity. My experience spans over the course of 3 years, and my certification is the starting point for building this as my life career.

I have been blessed with 4 children, three of which were born naturally; 2 in hospital, one home birth, and the 4^th was a cesarean delivery.
